Length of a list: use the len function

• letters = [’a’, ‘b’, ‘c’, ‘d’]
  • len(letters) is 5

The last item in the list is at index len(list_name - 1)

• letters = [’a’, ‘b’, ‘c’, ‘d’]
  • last_letter = letters[len(letters) - 1]
